Framing and nameplates available for additional cost. Framing is recommended, either by the artist or a framer of your choice. Frames sold by the artist are open back and solid wood, unless otherwise specified.
Nameplates can include up to four lines. Nameplate depends on shape and size of the frame as there must be space for a nameplate. Nameplates can include any wording (within the line and lettering limit) but recommended options for horses are barn name, registered name, birth and death date if deceased, special awards or accomplishments, owner, farm name, and sire and dam name. Nameplates are traditional hardwood, available in yellow gold or silver.
Other canvas sizes available upon request. All commissioned canvas is 100% cotton duck stretched, triple acrylic primed, and hand-splined by the manufacturer. All paintings are painted in artist quality oil paints.
Good quality photos of your horse (or other animal) in natural light with summer coat are best. Please watch for distortion of your horse's head when taking or picking reference photos. If you have limited photos, the artist can work with you to create an accurate portrait. Please avoid filters or editing unless using professional photos that are already edited.
Professional photos can only be used with written permission from the photographer. Professional photos are preferred for their quality but not required.
If commissioning a portrait for an approaching holiday or occasion, please consider a gift certificate instead. Paintings cannot be rushed as they are painted in multiple layers. Oils are slow drying paints. Upon completion, paintings must dry for at least 30 days before shipping.
No prints are currently offered. All artwork is original, hand painted, one of a kind, signed and dated by the artist.
The artist reserves the right to photograph all paintings for inclusion in her portfolio, advertising, social media, and website. If you commission a portrait and want it to remain private for a period of time (surprise gift) or indefinitely in a private collection, please make arrangements with the artist.
Please contact the artist for more information.
